Valladolid is a great little town with lots to see. Casa Hamaca is a short walk from the main square. Wonderful room, friendly staff and excellent breakfast.
We only stayed one night.
My room and the over all ambiance. Restaurant on location.
The food is great, charming place, felt very comfortable and like we were home.
Morning coffee & conversation in the outdoor patio. Local information & suggestions from Denis: he is an engaging host and great ambassador for his beloved Valladolid. The staff was so friendly and unobtrusive. We had a small medical issue and Denis called a doctor who made a house call within 15 min. and prescribed medications that were available within walking distance. The B&B is a lovely choice for a stay in this interesting colonial city.
The walls of Casa Hamaca, in the rooms as well as the overall exterior are covered with original murals of the Maya world both ancient and contemporary, some finished, some works in progress, while the overall design and use of color in the hotel is a constant stimulation. These are major features of Casa Hamaca and are well worth seeing even if you can only drop by for a drink.
That we only had a one day stay. If we had known what an eye opener Casa Hamaca was, we would have booked for at least two days.
We were warmly welcomed by the staff even though our arrival was delayed until 10:30 that night. Dennis, our host, could not have been more friendly, interesting and accommodating to our needs for a welcome place to stay.
A several-day stay in Valladolid provides a perfect base for a series of day trips to many of the Yucatan's most fascinating sites; Casa Hamaca provides a welcoming place to come home to after visiting ancient Mayan ruins and cenotes. Innkeeper Dennis Larsen has created a lovely home surrounded by a lush tropical garden; he can guide you to the best restaurants and tour guides, while his helpful staff provide a fine breakfast and clean room.

Casa Hamaca is such a gem in a beautiful town. The guests gather at bfast and dinner to share stories and plans for adventure. Very inviting and comfy
Our favorite place to stay during 10 day trip to Yucatan
Beautiful surroundings, beautiful people. I felt comfortable and cared for the entire stay. The food was great- unfortunely I gained weight! valladolid is a destination town. so much to do around this area I extended my stay two extra days. you will love Casa Hamaca if you love laid back, peaceful days and cool destinations that are close by and easy to get to. I will be back again!
nothing really. there was a lot of municipal construction going on front of the place, making it a little noisy at times, but that could not be helped.
Incredible staff, great location
Our room was spacious, very clean and had a wonderful tiled shower and bath. Dennis, the owner is very helpful - he even took us to the local market so I could look (and find) special items I had been wanting to get.
I liked everything!
I love this place, my second stay and hopefully not my last.
We only had one night in Villadolid but our stay at Casa Hamaca was a highlight! The host was extremely helpful and gracious and the setting was lovely. The staff were very friendly and helpful. Would definitely stay again!
